FAQs

Are you doing in-person work?

Currently, I am doing both in-person and teletherapy work. My office is centrally located near Penn Station in NYC.
Office Address: 350 7th Ave, Suite 500

What are your fees?

While there is a set fee for my work, there are many factors that can be taken into consideration in setting the final fee on a case by case basis. When possible, I am able to provide a sliding scale fee. Feel free to contact me to find out more.

Do you take insurance?

I am considered an "out-of-network" provider on most insurance plans. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may receive substantial reimbursement from your insurance company. I provide the documentation and guidance you'll need to file these claims. After payment of a deductible, out-of-network benefits typically cover a percentage of the fee and you may use pre-tax dollars through a flexible medical spending account to cover out-of-pocket psychotherapy expenses.
I am in-network with Columbia University’s Aetna Student Health Plan.

How do I know if I have "out-of-network" benefits?

Call your insurance company and ask about your mental/behavioral health coverage. Here are some specific questions that you might want to ask:
  • Do I have coverage for mental/behavioral health services?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • What is my coinsurance?
  • What is their "reasonable and customary fee"?
  • Is a primary care physician approval required?

Payment methods

I accept payment by cash, check, c.redit card, and HSA cards or electronically via Zelle to therapy@drjulianamartinez.com
